- Champney's Spa Evening Feb 2014
We enjoyed a lovely Spa evening at Champney's in Guildford in February, sipping sparkling wine and being pampered with mini facials or mini manicures, plus a raffle of spa goodies and discounts on products and future treatments. This was our second visit
and one we'll certainly do again.
- Summer Event 2013
Our summer event for 2013 was a 'cream tea' cruise along the River Wey, enjoying beautiful scenery, delicious food and great company, including friends and our WISHes (WI supportive husbands). The weather was glorious which allowed us to enjoy some of
the outside space. The outing was a great success, one to do again. (see gallery)
- Strictly Scarecrow 2013
Meet Gloria, our 'Strictly Scarecrow' made by Barbara and Shirley. She was displayed, along with many others from the Surrey Federation, at RHS Wisley, July 2013. Our members attended a special evening event, sharing a picnic and good
company, and viewing all the scarecrows on show. It was a perfect summer's evening, warm and beautifully sunny. (see gallery)
- Race for Life May 2013
23 members and friends entered the 5K Race for Life in support of Cancer Research on 26th May. We decided to enter this event to raise money in memory of our very dear friend, Mary, who sadly passed away in January. So far we have raised over £2400, with
an additional £345 given as our registration fee. It was a wonderful day, the sun was shining (thank you Mary) and we then had a picnic to celebrate and remember her life.
- Wey Out Group - November 2012
The Wey Out Group meeting in November was great fun and we were entertained by the Hunky Dorys, a fantastic acapella group.
- Olympic Park Visit February 2012
We joined Send WI for a terrific outing on a bright and sunny day. We enjoyed morning coffee, a roast beef lunch and the brilliant services of a 'blue badge' guide who took us through the history of the Olympics and the process of the nominations and the various
bodies who plan, build and administer the Olympics . Did you know that London is the only city to be awarded the Olympics 3 times? (HOORAY!) Stratford and Newham are an unfamiliar side of London to many of us, but there is no denying that the development of
the park and village is quite amazing, and the Orbit will be a lasting landmark of this historic event
- Jubilee Celebrations
We had a great time celebrating the Queen's Jubilee with a party, cake, wine and dressing up for the occasion in red/white/blue
